Twelve o’clock on the dot in Germany: it’s lunchtime everywhere. Employees from Stade to Munich make their way to the canteen. Each of them spends an average of 35 minutes here every day, restoring his or her energy reserves. Over half an hour, which we transform into a culinary highlight.
For while others are having a break, we are working at full power – since the early hours of the morning: in canteens throughout Germany we have developed menus, prepared dishes, set tables, peeled carrots and cooked potatoes. All in order to ensure that lunch is on the table on time. We banish elevenses blues and afternoon sluggishness with comfort food in between meals, and chase away tiredness with freshly brewed coffee in our lounges.
